Obesity: choice or genetics

When i see an obese person i think why don't they change themselves, don't they realize that they are killing themselves. Today i was going to write about Paris Hilton and how the media is giving her to much attention when the real news is in Iraq, but i figure she does even deserve the attention I'm giving her right now. now back to obesity

I find that every time someone is lazy a new gene pops up in the brain this time it's CD38. Here is a excerpt from Science daily:

"Obesity is a complex problem compounded by multiple factors, one of which is our genes. Genes play a role in about 50 percent of cases, and in this study, we demonstrate that CD38 regulates body weight," states Eduardo Chini, M.D., Ph.D., an anesthesiologist at Mayo Clinic and corresponding author of the study.

Identifying the signaling mechanisms that lead to obesity caused by a high-fat, high-calorie diet is a critical part of understanding and developing new treatments for obesity, Dr. Chini says.

Ok big freaking deal half the people have this "gene" deficiency (and i know that's a lot). But that also means that just as many fat people are what i like to call:

LAZY

And i know this may be a little harsh but you are killing yourself and being just straight up kids in Africa are starving. So how about pushing a little of your plate and giving to a little more to others. Now i don't want to be mean because I have friends and family who are obese all I'm saying is i don't understand.

I guess I can feel what you are saying, I'm a little on the "more to love" side (and not to make excuses) but I've just had a baby, and i see the looks that people give me since I've been back to work. Those 'you haven't lost that weight yet!" looks. Damn how I hate those looks.
But I digress...I should do something about it, you've been my motivation!
